Zamfara organises CBT for 6,412 applicants to boost primary education

The Zamfara State Government scheduled a Computer-Based Test (CBT) for thousands of candidates who applied for the 3,050 basic education teaching slots across the state.

The management of Zamfara Information Technology Development Agency (ZITDA) announced this in a circular released at the weekend.

The CBT is following Governor Dauda Lawal’s approval for the recruitment of 3,050 basic school teachers through an open, merit–based digital portal – targeted at underserved and rural schools.

This additional recruitment followed an earlier hiring of 4,000 teachers and upgrading of 789 schools by the governor in a bold move to overhaul the education sector in the state.

The governor had earlier recruited another set of 500 science teachers who were deployed across the 14 local government areas in the state to address the critical shortage of science educators in secondary schools.

The ZITDA circular said the screening committee had shortlisted 6,412 applicants out of the 10,876 that applied.

The agency had fixed Wednesday, September 16, 2026, for the CBT.

The agency advised all shortlisted candidates to check their registered email addresses used during the application process, as notification emails have been sent to successful candidates.

It said the SMS notifications have also been sent to the shortlisted candidates’ registered phone numbers.

ZITDA also urged the candidates to visit the official recruitment portal (https://recruitment.zamfara.gov.ng/ube) to check their application status and print their examination/invitation slip.

It said the examination slip contains all the necessary information about the CBT examination, including the CBT centre, examination date, examination time, and venue.

Candidates were therefore advised to carefully check all the information contained on their slips.

They were also advised to come along with the printed examination slip and a valid means of identification to the CBT examination.

“The examination slip is mandatory for admission into the CBT examination hall. Candidates are therefore strongly advised to print their slips ahead of the examination,” the circular said.

It warned that applicants who have not received an SMS or email notification are advised to remain patient and regularly check the recruitment portal for updates and further opportunities.
