'T3 principle' key foundation for digital archiving: Minister Hafid

Translate

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Communication and Digital Affairs Minister Meutya Hafid said the T3 principle (connected, growing, and protected) is an important foundation in digital archiving to deliver integrated data management and support government program efficiency.

"Accurate recording must become a habit in every work process. For us, recording is number one. Data must be accurate, must not be conveyed incorrectly," Hafid said in a statement confirmed here on Friday.

According to her, digital archiving is one important step to ensure transparent and accountable digital government can make a real impact in improving public service quality.

She made the statement at the Handover of Internal Archival Oversight Results at the Communication and Digital Affairs Ministry, themed "Empowering the Future: Connected Archives, Growing Performance, Protected Integrity," held on Thursday (October 15).

With that T3 principle, digital archiving can be seen not only as storing data digitally, but also as a step to transform public services to be more effective and efficient.

"In the context of digital archiving, Connected means ensuring data and archives can be integrated and used across work units to support productivity and decision-making," she explained.

The growing principle reflects the use of archives as a source of organizational learning. Program track records, evaluation results, and policy implementation documentation can serve as a basis to improve work processes, increase efficiency, and ensure later programs are drawn up on accountable information.

On the protected principle, Hafid stressed the importance of maintaining the security, integrity, confidentiality, and sustainability of archives in line with regulations.

Archive management must ensure information with useful value is preserved, while archive destruction is carried out based on applicable classification, retention, and procedures.

Digital archiving with the T3 principle is also considered appropriate and relevant amid the development of artificial intelligence (AI) innovation, which is entering public services gradually.

"Because the ability to manage, maintain, connect, and process data is one important foundation in the development of digital technology," Hafid stated.
