The Quezon City government announced that the westbound lane along Commonwealth Avenue, going towards Quezon Memorial Circle, will be temporarily closed from October 27 to 29 to give way for the transport of equipment for the construction of the Metro Railway Transit Line 7 (MRT-7).

The temporary road closure will take place every 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. on the said dates.

“Isasara ang isang innermost lane upang bigyang-daan ang unloading at lifting ng mga elevator at escalator equipment para sa MRT-7. Mananatiling bukas at madaraanan ang limang iba pang lane,” the advisory read.

(One innermost lane will be closed to give way to the unloading and lifting of elevator and escalator equipment for MRT-7. Five other lanes will remain open and accessible.)

Motorists are advised to allot extra time for their travel amid the road closure.

The soon-to-rise MRT-7 is expected to have 14 stations, with 12 of them planned to be operational by June 2027.

The 14 stations are: North Avenue, Quezon Memorial Circle, University Avenue, Tandang Sora, Don Antonio, Batasan, Manggahan, Doña Carmen, Regalado, Mindanao Avenue, Quirino, Sacred Heart, Tala, and San Jose del Monte. —VAL, GMA News
