Met Office issues stunning weather forecast for London with temperatures set to leap

London could see temperatures rise to 25C next week, with a spell of warm weather forecast to continue despite the colder months fast approaching.

Saturday is expected to be mostly cloudy with sunny spells and a chance of light rain later in the day, with temperatures reaching up to 23C.

Sunday is forecast to be brighter, with sunshine and highs of 21C.

The forecast temperatures are above the average for London at this time of year. Met Office data shows typical daytime temperatures in September are around 20C, with overnight lows of approximately 11C to 12C.

The warm conditions follow a record-breaking summer, during which temperatures in London exceeded 30C on 40 days.

Provisional Met Office data also showed the UK's average mean temperature reached 16.5C, surpassing the previous record set in 2025.

Here’s the weather forecast for London for the next seven days, according to the Met Office:

  • Friday, September 18: 18C – Sunny intervals and a gentle breeze
  • Saturday, September 19: 23C – Mostly cloudy with a gentle breeze
  • Sunday, September 20: 21C – Sunshine
  • Monday, September 21: 23C – Sunshine
  • Tuesday, September 22: 25C – Sunny intervals and a gentle breeze
  • Wednesday, September 23: 21C – Sunny intervals and a gentle breeze
  • Thursday, September 24: 21C – Sunny intervals and a gentle breeze

The warmer conditions are expected to ease later in the week, with temperatures returning to the low 20s.
