PDEA nabs courier firm driver for allegedly selling drugs in Pampanga


MABALACAT CITY, PAMPANGA, Philippines — Authorities arrested a courier company driver who yielded some P3.4 million worth of suspected crystal meth in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Dau here on Friday evening, Aug. 21.
In a statement on Saturday, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 3 identified the suspect only as alias “Haji,” 22.
The agency described the suspect as an alleged “big-time drug pusher involved in large-scale distribution of shabu in Metro Manila and Central Luzon.”

Around 8 p.m. on Friday, PDEA agents, assisted by the local police, conducted a sting operation against the suspect along the Dau NLEx Access Road, which resulted in the latter’s arrest and the confiscation of the haul of alleged illegal drugs.

PDEA Region 3 said some 500 grams of suspected shabu was seized from “Haji” during the operation. The marked money used in the buy-bust operation was also recovered.
It said the suspect had been using his job as a courier company driver as cover for his alleged illegal activities.
The suspect is facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /cb
