Dylan Larkin has expanded his list of potential destinations to 10 teams, as the Detroit Red Wings seek to move their former captain following his trade demand, an NHL source confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday.

Larkin, who has a no-trade clause, is in the fourth season of an eight-year, $69.6 million contract that carries an average annual value of $8.7 million against the salary cap.

Initially, Larkin gave the Red Wings three teams he'd be willing to waive his trade protection to join: the Florida Panthers, Minnesota Wild and Vegas Golden Knights. Due to salary cap considerations and not having the trade return the Red Wings were seeking, Larkin wasn't moved in the offseason.

Larkin, the team's No. 1 center, reported to training camp but had his team captaincy taken away from him. He rejoined the Red Wings on the ice on Oct. 6 and has one goal and two assists in 6 games entering Tuesday night's tilt at the Seattle Kraken.

As he awaits a trade, Larkin, 30, has told the Red Wings he'd be willing to move to at least seven additional teams, according to a source: the Carolina Hurricanes, Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, New Jersey Devils, Tampa Bay Lightning, Utah Mammoth and Washington Capitals. The list was first reported by the Detroit Free Press.

Despite Montreal Canadiens fans having recently chanted "We Want Larkin!" when the Red Wings visited Bell Centre, a source told ESPN that Larkin is not looking for a trade to a Canadian team.

Larkin has played his entire NHL career in Detroit, which drafted him 15th overall in 2014. He ranks 10th in franchise history with 646 points.

When Larkin's trade request was made public last June, sources told ESPN that there was tension between Larkin and Detroit management. GM Steve Yzerman stepped down during the offseason and was replaced by Shawn Horcoff on an interim basis.

Larkin, who won a gold medal with the U.S. in the 2026 Winter Olympics, has missed the playoffs in 10 of 11 years in the NHL. The Red Wings are mired in the longest playoff drought in team history, last appearing in the playoffs in 2016.
