MobLand season 2 branded "near-perfect" and "superb" in first reviews as premiere drops

After months of anticipation and rumoured strife behind the scenes, the second season of MobLand is now out as the wildly popular crime drama returned to Paramount+.

The new season sees Tom Hardy's Harry Da Souza continuing to work for the Harrigan crime family, with the clan facing a new threat as they seek to dominate London's criminal underworld.

In addition to Hardy, other returning cast members include Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Jasmine Jobson, Toby Jones and Mandeep Dhillon. Johnny Flynn and Ophelia Lovibond, meanwhile, are new additions.

With the first episode of the 10-part follow-up being released this morning (18 September), reviews for the second season have now come in, and it looks to have been a hit with critics if the initial impressions are anything to go by.
