Strictly's Amy Dowden reveals Kim Kardashian's brutal verdict on Chris Appleton's dancing

Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has revealed Kim Kardashian's brutal verdict on celebrity hairdresser Chris Appleton's dancing.

The renowned hairdresser, who has appeared on The Kardashians and styled stars including Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, and Ariana Grande, is taking part in this year's Strictly alongside professional dancer Amy.

Speaking to Magic Radio's Sonali Shah on the red carpet at the WellChild Awards, Chris and Amy opened up about whether they had heard from Appleton's friend and client, Kim.

"It's been lovely. She sent me a beautiful arrangement of flowers and she didn't have to do that," Chris said. "And she's been asking me how I've been getting on."

Interrupting Chris, Amy said that Kim had seen him dancing and had given him a low score for his moves, though Chris said that score has since improved.

"She did score you a two when she watched your dance though," Amy said.

"Well, she did first, but then she scored me an eight and eight, and two equals 10, so I'm going to take it as a 10," Chris quipped.

Ahead of the twenty-fourth series of the popular show, Chris, who hails from Leicester, explained why he chose to take part in the UK series despite calling LA home.

"I have friends who've taken part in Dancing with the Stars in the US, but for me, Strictly felt like the right fit," he said.

Chris added: "Being from the UK, there's something really special about taking part in such an iconic British show - it genuinely feels like coming home to my roots.

"Having my family here as well makes it even more meaningful, because they're so excited to support me throughout the whole journey. I can’t wait to be in London and head back home to Leicester too."

Asked what he hopes to gain from the experience, Chris added: "I’m hoping to come away having learned a completely new skill and with memories that will stay with me forever.

"I want to enjoy every moment, challenge myself, embrace the experience and hopefully surprise myself with what I’m capable of."
