Blossoms Official Charts Company

Blossoms has earned its fifth No. 1 studio album with Songs From the Wedding Cake (Oct. 9).

The Stockport-formed indie-rock group outlasts The Beatles, who were at No. 1 in the midweeks with a 60th anniversary reissue of Rubber Soul.

Blossoms first hit No. 1 in 2016 with its self-titled debut, followed by Foolish Loving Spaces (2020), Ribbon Around the Bomb (2022) and Gary (2024).

Speaking to the Official Charts Company, the five-piece said: “We’re made up. To still be doing this 10 years on from our first album, and to still be getting to No. 1, isn’t something we take for granted. Thank you to everyone who bought it, played it or told a mate about it. See you on tour.”

The Fab Four comes in at No. 2 with Rubber Soul, which features a newly mixed version of its 1965 LP by Giles Martin, son of the band’s producer George. The reissue features additional unheard tracks and studio chatter between the band.

Olivia Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love closes at No. 3, followed by Michael Jackson’s The Essential greatest hits collection.

Johnny Marr, former guitarist of The Smiths, lands at No. 5 with his latest solo effort The Age of Everything, and follows 2022’s Fever Dreams Pts 1-4 as his second top five effort.

Fat Dog’s Cancel Me (I’m Tired) lands its highest charting album to date, with the south London seven-piece closing at No. 13.

Drake’s HABIBTI returns to the chart at No. 20 following the release of an expanded edition.
