Victor Glover, First Black Astronaut to Fly to the Moon, Signs With CAA

CAA has signed astronaut Victor Glover for representation in all areas.

Glover is a retired U.S. Navy captain and an emeritus NASA astronaut, making history several times throughout his career as a space explorer.

In 2020, Glover piloted the first operational flight of SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft, Resilience, to the International Space Station. On this mission, Glover served as a Flight Engineer for Expeditions 64 and 65, becoming the first Black American astronaut to live aboard the ISS.

Then, this April, Glover piloted NASA’s Artemis II mission, becoming the first Black astronaut to fly to the moon. Glover and the Artemis II crew completed a nearly 10-day mission, traveling as far as 252,756 miles from Earth, farther than any humans have ever traveled. Glover spent a total of 178 days in space, completing 4 spacewalks

Before Glover was selected to be an astronaut in 2013, during a term as a legislative fellow in the U.S. Senate, he’d built a successful career as a Naval aviator. Glover was a test pilot in the F/A‐18 Hornet, Super Hornet and EA‐18G Growler and has flown over 45 aircraft, accumulating over 4000 hours in the skies. He has been awarded the Defense Superior Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, NASA Distinguished Service Medal and NASA Space Exploration Medal.

The California native is a alum of California Polytechnic State University, where he now serves as an executive advisor. He also hold Masters degrees from the Naval Postgraduate School and has been awarded honorary Doctorates from California Polytechnic State University and Howard University.
