Translate

EXCLUSIVE: We’re getting word that a great package is heading to AFM with Armando Iannucci directing and writing and James McAvoy, Oscar winner Alicia Vikander and Primetime Emmy nominee Taron Egerton starring. It will rep the first time that this murderer’s row of actors have worked with the award-winning Iannucci.

Details for the project from sources are being held close to the vest, only that Iannucci’s latest is best described as a conspiracy thriller.

I understand that BAFTA winner Kevin Loader, who produced Iannucci’s movies In the Loop, The Death of Stalin, and The Personal History of David Copperfield, as well as the HBO TV series Avenue 5, is producing the filmmaker’s latest here. FilmNation and UTA are handling sales heading into AFM. FilmNation and Loader worked with Iannucci previously on David Copperfield.

Iannucci’s feature and TV canon in known for its politcal comedy absurdity which holds a mirror to whatever times we’re weathering, whether it’s his feature In the Loop which he notched an Oscar nomination for in Adapted Screenplay, his BAFTA nominated The Death of Stalin or the HBO Julia Louis- Dreyfus comedy series he created, Veep, which won the UTA repped filmmaker two Emmys, and two WGA awards.

The UTA, United Agents and Sloane Weber Offer Dern repped McAvoy has his feature directorial debut, which he also starred in, California Schemin’ out in theaters. His feature credits include Split, Atonement, Speak No Evil, It: Chapter Two, Glass and playing the younger Doctor Xavier in Marvel’s X-Men franchise. He won the Young Rising Star BAFTA Award in 2006. He was Golden Globe nominated in the Best Actor Drama category for his turn in Joe Wright’s Atonement.

Vikander, who won an Oscar for Supporting Actress for Focus Features’ The Danish Girl, starred recently in the Korean sci-fi hit movie and Cannes premiere, Hope, as well as the feature The Last Day, and The Echo Chamber. She is repped by UTA.

Egerton was Emmy nominated for Lead Actor in a Limited/Anthology Series for Apple TV’s Black Bird. He broke out playing Elton John in the Oscar winning Rocketman. He’s starred in 20th Century Studios’ Kingsman franchise, Illumination’s Sing franchise, and won rave reviews at TIFF for his turn recently in Jonathan Schey’s Everybody Wants to F*ck Me. He is repped by WME, Range Media Partners and Sloane Offer Weber Dern.
