UPDATED: Tinubu returns to Nigeria after four weeks abroad

President Bola Tinubu returned to Nigeria on Tuesday evening after spending four weeks abroad on a ‘working vacation.’

The president’s plane landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 6:22 p.m., Channels Television reports.

PREMIUM TIMES reports that Mr Tinubu left Nigeria on 30 August, first to the UK and later to France, from where he returned on Tuesday.

His absence raised concerns among many Nigerians, especially after the vacation was extended, having been initially scheduled to last for three weeks. The president’s inability to attend the United Nations General Assembly, for the third consecutive year, also worsened the concerns.
