Jakarta police set parking areas for Palestine rally

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta police have designated five parking areas around the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta for participants attending a mass rally marking Palestine Solidarity Month 2026 on Sunday.
“We urge participants to use the designated parking areas and follow officers’ instructions to ensure an orderly event,” Jakarta Police Public Relations Chief Budi Hermanto said in a statement on Sunday.
The rally is scheduled to run from 5:30 a.m. to noon at Monas’ South Plaza, according to the Traffic Management Center (TMC) of the Jakarta police traffic directorate.
The five sites are the Southeast Monas area (50 buses), Gambir Station (400 cars and 200 motorcycles), Istiqlal Mosque (600 cars), IRTI (100 cars and 150 motorcycles), and Danareksa Building (600 cars).
Budi said traffic arrangements were designed to facilitate the rally while minimizing disruption to daily activities around Monas.
Car-Free Day will also proceed as scheduled from 5:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and residents were urged to adjust their travel plans to traffic conditions.
He also called on rally participants and other road users to respect one another and prioritize safety while using public spaces.
“We urge participants and road users to respect one another, stay safe and work together to keep public spaces comfortable for everyone,” he said.
