#SHOWBIZ: Love in full bloom: Dr Fie, Captain Amrul share fond memories of early courtship

KUALA LUMPUR: Social media personality Dr Afifah Hidayah Ahmad Tawfek, a.k.a. Dr Fie, candidly admitted that while early marriage is pure bliss, she hopes the honeymoon phase lasts a lifetime.

Addressing recent online chatter surrounding her glowing praise for her new husband, Captain Amrul Nizar Anuar, the 36-year-old clarified in a Threads post that her public appreciation was simply a token of gratitude. She commended him for being exceptionally supportive and cooperative throughout their wedding preparations right up to their big day.

Responding to sceptical remarks that initial romance inevitably fades, she wrote, "Of course, everything is sweet and rosy in the beginning. This was merely an appreciation post for my husband while we were handling our wedding preparations until the day itself. That is all."

But Dr Fie remains optimistic about their future together.

"I hope it stays like this forever. This was just during the preparations. Please keep praying for good things for us," she added, emphasising her hopes for mutual appreciation, compromise, and lasting joy.

After tying the knot, the newlyweds went live on TikTok to share sweet memories from their early courtship. Captain Amrul fondly recalled how Dr Fie gave him orchids during this year's Hari Raya celebrations, accompanied by a note subtly hinting at her feelings.

"During Hari Raya, she brought orchids with a note reading 'Selamat Hari Raya Maaf Zahir dan Batin, Love Dr. Fie'. If there's the word 'love', then it truly means love. Not long after that, she gave me orchids again," he shared.

Touched by the gesture, he added, "I treasure her gift so much that I will keep it, because who knows, one day the fallen flowers might bloom again."

Dr Fie tied the knot with Captain Amrul on Nov 1 in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends, following a three-month engagement.

She was previously married to singer Nubhan in August 2015 before their divorce was finalised last December. She has three children from her previous marriage: Aafiya, 9, Ahmad Aafan, 7, and four-year-old Afzan Nayille.
