Ella Langley’s ‘Choosin’ Texas’ Ties All-Time Hot 100 Record With 22nd Week at No. 1
Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” claims a 22nd week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 — tying the longest run ever achieved atop the chart. The smash matches the command of Mariah Carey’s perennial “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
Two weeks earlier, “Choosin’ Texas” rewrote the record for the most weeks totaled atop the Hot 100 among non-holiday songs, as its 20th week at No. 1 surpassed the reigns of both Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus.
Here’s an updated look at the longest-leading hits, ranked by most weeks spent at No. 1 on the Hot 100, since the chart began in August 1958:
- 22 weeks (to date), “Choosin’ Texas,” Ella Langley, 2026
- 22, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” Mariah Carey, 2019-26
- 19, “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Shaboozey, 2024
- 19, “Old Town Road,” Lil Nas X feat. Billy Ray Cyrus, 2019
- 16, “Last Night,” Morgan Wallen, 2023
- 16, “Despacito,” Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber, 2017
- 16, “One Sweet Day,” Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men, 1995-96
“Choosin’ Texas” debuted on the Hot 100 dated Nov. 1, 2025; became Langley’s first top 10 in January; and initially led in February, on its way to setting multiple chart records. It crowned the Country Airplay chart for three weeks in February-March and has crossed to pop radio formats, currently ranking in the top 10 on Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay and Adult Contemporary.
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” has topped the Hot 100 each Yuletide season since the classic 1994 carol initially led in 2019, and could add to its total in the holidays ahead.
Elsewhere, Karol G’s “BbY WOW,” with Judeline and rusowsky, hits the Hot 100’s top 10, jumping to No. 10.

‘Choosin’ Texas’ Streams, Airplay & Sales
“Choosin’ Texas,” on SAWGOD/Columbia Records, with Triple Tigers having promoted it to country radio, totaled 24 million official streams, 56.9 million radio airplay audience impressions (down 2% week over week in each metric) and 6,000 sold (down 16%) in the United States Sept. 4-10.
The track holds for a 22nd week at No. 1 on Streaming Songs; dips 5-6, after reaching No. 4, on Radio Songs; and rises 4-1 for a 17th week atop Digital Song Sales.
“Choosin’ Texas” is concurrently No. 1 on the multimetric Hot Country Songs chart for a 40th week, becoming just the third hit to reach that threshold. Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line’s “Meant to Be” dominated for 50 weeks in 2017-18 and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” led for 45 weeks in 2024-25.

Country Continues Its Command
Stella Lefty’s “Boston” holds at its No. 2 Hot 100 high; Taylor Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You” keeps at No. 3, after it spent its first two weeks on the chart at No. 1 in June; and Morgan Wallen’s “Been by Now” rebounds 5-4, after it debuted at its No. 2 best.
Country songs (defined as releases that have hit Hot Country Songs) have now held the Hot 100’s top three, top four or top five 15 times over the chart’s history — with 11 having occurred since the beginning of July (with the previous four in 2023-25), owed to the genre’s growth in streaming, among multiple factors.
Meanwhile, “I Knew It, I Knew You” leads Radio Songs for a fourth week (64.6 million, down 13%).

A week ago, “BbY WOW” rose to No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts.
