Three-bedroom Victorian terraced house hits the market for £800,000 and it's hiding a magical surprise

Translate

A three-bedroom Victorian terraced home has gone on sale with a magical surprise inside.

The house in Devereux Road, Berkshire, has seen its list price reduced from £850,000 in the last week and contains a wizarding feature some fans may be keen to snap up.

Its unusual feature is hidden behind an ordinary-looking doorway next to a bookshelf and fireplace.

Plucked straight from the world of Harry Potter, its Diagon Alley shopping district is recreated within the Windsor home.

A narrow passageway past the door is lined with colourful shopfronts and cobbles, including a recreation of wand shop Ollivanders, where the eponymous wizard buys his own in the first book.

Other details on the recreated alley include traditional lanterns, crooked facades and signs advertising magical products.

The house, in Windsor, appears normal from the outside, nestled among the Victorian terraced homes either side

But it has a wizarding surprise within: a replica of the Diagon Alley shopping district from the Harry Potter series

The recreation from JK Rowling's books leads down to a dining room and features shopfronts inspired by the magical creation

Its unassuming entrance is a door next to a bookcase

It boasts wood flooring, built-in shelving and a fireplace downstairs in the living room

And there is a garden area to the rear of the home

As a whole, the freehold home measures around 1,395 sq ft and has three bedrooms, one bathroom and two reception rooms.

Alongside its secret wizarding features, the period property features exposed wooden flooring, fireplaces, built-in shelving and a dining room.

A loft room offers ample storage and the potential to create an additional bedroom subject to planning permission.

Outside there is a private south-facing rear garden.

Close to Windsor Castle, the house sits in the Berkshire town near the Long Walk and two railway stations.

Listed by estate agent Hardings, the house was posted to the Housing Horrors page where users were left enchanted.

One said: 'I love the whimsy of it all.'

Another added: 'This is so b***** cool.'

A third commented: 'Imagine your mum and dad fighting in the alley.'

And a fourth said: 'Imagine losing your car keys and you've got to search Diagon Alley for them.'
