Translate

A 26-year-old jawan in the Army was found hanging from a ceiling fan in a hotel room in southwest Delhi's Satya Niketan area on Saturday, police said.

A PCR call regarding the development was received at the South Campus police station at around 12:20 pm, following which police personnel rushed to the hotel, where the man was found hanging inside a room.

Anil Sai Tejja Vallepu, a resident of Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, was serving in the Army and was posted in Hisar, police said, adding that a suicide note was also found from the room.

A preliminary inquiry revealed that Vallepu had checked into the hotel on August 19 and was staying there alone.

The crime team was called to the spot, and it examined the scene as part of the investigation, police said.

According to police, the suicide note found in the room did not contain any allegations against anyone. Police are looking into the circumstances surrounding the Army jawan's death and verifying the sequence of events preceding the incident.

The body was shifted to the Safdarjung Hospital for further necessary proceedings, including post-mortem, a police officer said.

Further proceedings under section 194 (police to enquire and report on suicide) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) are being carried out, police said.
