Ameesha’s home robbed of Rs 5 lakh gold-diamond jewellery

Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel’s parents have reportedly fallen victim to an alleged theft at their Churchgate residence, with gold and diamond jewellery worth approximately Rs. 5 lakh missing from the house.

According to Mumbai Police, a domestic help has been arrested in connection with the alleged theft.The Marine Drive police have taken Seema Ghate, 40, a domestic worker from Palghar, into custody for her suspected involvement in the case. Following her appearance before a court, Ghate was remanded to police custody until September 15.

Ameesha Patel’s domestic help had worked at her parents’ home for over a year

According to the police, Ghate had been working as domestic help at the residence of Ameesha’s mother, Asha Patel, for nearly one-and-a-half years.

The alleged theft came to light after Asha Patel approached the Marine Drive police and filed a complaint.Police said the alleged theft of a bangle took place in January 2026. Asha reportedly suspected Ghate’s involvement and, over the following five to six months, allegedly urged her to admit to the theft and return the missing jewellery.However, after the bangle was allegedly not returned, Asha approached the police and lodged a formal complaint.

Police trace accused to Virar

The case was initially registered against an unidentified woman. Following the complaint, a crime detection team, acting under the direction of the senior police inspector, traced the suspect to Virar.Ghate was subsequently detained and produced before the court, which remanded her to police custody until September 15. Police are currently attempting to recover the missing jewellery and are also investigating whether the accused has any previous criminal record.

The allegedly stolen bangle has not yet been recovered.
