India men's skeet team clinch bronze after shoot-off win over Kazakhstan

India's men's skeet team of Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Mairaj Ahmed Khan and Bhavtegh Singh Gill secured the bronze medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 on Wednesday after prevailing over Kazakhstan in a shoot-off.The Indian trio finished level with Kazakhstan on 346 points in the men's skeet team event, but held their nerve in the shoot-off to finish third and claim the medal.

The final is scheduled to begin at 12:30 PM IST.The medal came on a productive day for India in shooting, with the country's men's and women's skeet teams both securing bronze medals.

Raiza Dhillon, Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Maheshwari Chauhan had earlier finished third in the women's skeet team event with a combined score of 331. China won gold with 346 points, while Kazakhstan took silver.Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker also reached the women's 10m air pistol individual final but finished fifth in the medal round, while Suruchi Inder Singh and Esha Singh failed to qualify for the final.

Away from the shooting range, India's women's kabaddi team maintained its unbeaten start with a 37-23 victory over Iran in their Group A match.

India were put under pressure early on but fought back strongly to register their second straight win, having opened their campaign with a victory over Bangladesh.India also secured its maiden Asian Games medal in soft tennis after Jay Meena reached the men's singles semi-finals. Meena defeated the Philippines' Sherwin Nuguit 4-3 in a dramatic quarter-final, fighting back after trailing 3-5 in the deciding game.
