PETALING JAYA, Oct 12 — Two 20-year-old men were killed and five others injured in a midnight collision involving two vehicles at Kilometre 18.2 heading towards Kuala Lumpur early Monday morning.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency distress call regarding the incident near the Glenmarie Industrial Park at 12.27am.

“A total of 14 personnel from the Subang Jaya Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) and Bukit Jelutong Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene.

“The fire engines arrived at the scene at 12.44am and the operation was successfully brought under control at 1.05am,” he said in a statement on Monday.

The crash involved an unidentifiable Proton Wira Aeroback and a Proton Exora multi-purpose vehicle.

Ashrul Riezal said the Proton Wira was carrying four young men. Two 20-year-old occupants were pronounced dead at the scene, while the remaining two passengers, both aged 19, suffered minor injuries.

“The Proton Exora, meanwhile, was occupied by three individuals, namely a 29-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man and a 28-year-old man.

“All three of them also sustained minor injuries in the incident. All victims were handed over to the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for further action,” he said.

The rescue operation mobilized one Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) from the Subang Jaya station, alongside another FRT and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle deployed from the Bukit Jelutong fire station.
