Bafana Bafana injury update: Orlando Pirates star ruled out of Guinea match

Bafana Bafana have announced that defender Nkosinathi Sibisi won’t be available for the Guinea match on Saturday.

Pitso Mosimane’s men host Guinea in the 2027 Afcon qualifiers at the Orlando Amstel Arena.

Sibisi, who got a knock during training, has been ruled out of Saturday’s match but could be available for Bafana’s next fixtures in the coming days.

“Setback on Sibisi because he’s got an injury and he has not been training the last two days days. He got a knock at training, so we are monitoring it. The doctor says he will miss this one,” Mosimane told media on Friday.

“Injuries are part of professional sport, hence you select enough numbers because you don’t know what you will have or what you are going to face. Thanks God we selected enough. You know Lebo Maboe is also out, hence we select as much as we can so that we can go through the hurdles without panicking. That’s what we have. So far, so good. The camp is good.

Bafana have a few players out due to injury

Earlier in the week, Lebohang Maboe left camp due to injury and was replaced with Tshepang Moremi. In terms of players unavailable for selection, regular right back Khuliso Mudau continues to recover from injury and will not be in action unil 2027.

Another notable absentee is defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi. The Bafana star is back training with Chicago Fire, having recovered from injury. He will be availabe for the next Afcon qualifiers and friendlies in the coming months.
