Ospreys and Dragons fully-loaded for St Helen's return

Translate

Ospreys have rotated their squad because of a schedule that has featured games against Sharks in Durban, Lions in Johannesburg and Black Lion in Tbilisi.

They also had the shorter trip to Newport to take on Dragons a fortnight ago, when they won an engrossing 10-try derby 38-31.

Jones makes one change to the pack from Rodney Parade, with flanker Harri Deaves returning and Ross Moriarty dropping down to the bench.

Morgan-Williams, centre Owen Watkin and wing Iestyn Hopkins get the nod in the backs, with Australia international Lalakai Foketi remaining a replacement after a big impact in Newport.

Ospreys will hope to do the double over the Dragons in their return to St Helen's, which was their original home in 2003 until the move to the Swansea.com Stadium in 2005.

They left that ground, which they shared with Swansea City, in 2025 and played last season at Bridgend's Brewery Field.

Swansea RFC have played two Super Rygbi Cymru games at St Helen's with about 3,000 supporters watching their win against Cardiff.

Swansea University took to the artificial pitch on Wednesday evening when they beat Exeter University thirds.

The fixture against Dragons is sold out and is quickly followed by another derby against Cardiff on Saturday, 31 October.

The St Helen's fixture will be an emotional one for Dragons head coach Filo Tiatia.

The former Ospreys back-row forward played a game for Swansea RFC against Bridgend in March 2008 and also cut his coaching teeth when in charge of the Whites' defence.

Tiatia will hope his players can be party poopers and continue their encouraging start to 2026-27.

Dragons are still without co-captain Angus O'Brien, whose first block of the season has been hindered by a leg injury.

Jared Rosser's try-scoring return in the Challenge Cup victory against Perpignan means Dyer starts at full-back for the first time, although he moved there in the second half last weekend before his Wales recall.

Dragons are stretched in the back row, with Harri Keddie, Thomas Young and Ryan Woodman injured and new signing Terrell Peita yet to arrive from New Zealand.

He plays for Northland in the final of the National Provincial Championship on Sunday and will arrive in Wales for the second block of the season.

That means a start for lock Barny Langton-Cryer at blind-side flanker with Shane Lewis-Hughes slotting in at number eight.

Argentine loose-head prop Rodrigo Martinez has recovered from a shoulder injury to start while tight-head Chris Coleman is back from a head injury among the replacements.

Referee Ben Whitehouse will take charge of his 117th and last URC game before taking up a full-time role on Wales' coaching team.

Ospreys: Rogers; Hopkins, Watkin (co-capt), K Williams, Giles; Edwards, Morgan-Williams; G Thomas, Parry (co-capt), Botha, R Davies, Smith, Wright, Deaves, Morris.

Replacements: Daniel, S Thomas, Henry, Ratti, Moriarty, Davies, Creighton, Foketi.
