OceanVeil Announces Simulcast Stream of My Girlfriend's Friend Anime

OceanVeil announced on Thursday that it will simultaneously stream the anime of Jura's My Girlfriend's Friend (Kanojo no Tomodachi) manga, starting on October 4. 

OceanVeil describes the anime's story:

Takeru Hidaka thought he had found simple happiness with his sweet, cheerful first girlfriend, Kaori. But his quiet high school life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Kaori's glamorous best friend, Tomoko. 

Striking, enigmatic, and possessing an effortless allure, Tomoko begins pulling Takeru into her orbit through subtle glances and unexpected closeness. Caught between his genuine feelings for Kaori and the irresistible magnetic pull surrounding Tomoko, Takeru finds his heart and resolve constantly tested. Can he maintain the line of devotion, or will secret desires redefine everything?

The anime will debut on Tokyo MX on October 4 at 25:05 (effectively October 5 at 1:05 a.m.), and will air on BS11 on October 7. The "Complete Deregula" version of the show will stream on AnimeFesta starting on October 5 at 1:05 a.m., and AnimeFesta and other services will also stream the on-air version of the show.

The anime will star: 

Takashi Andō is directing the anime at Quad. WWWave Corporation is credited as producer. Deregula is credited for production. Gokō Shiraki (Hands off: Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun) is writing and supervising the series' scripts. Ryūji Iwata is designing the characters, and is also credited as chief animation director alongside Akira Koshiishi and Konatsu Kumagai. Hiroki Nishiyama is the sound director. Makoto Tōgō is the director of photography. Jun'ichi Masunaga is the editor. Naoto Awano is the animation producer. Naoki Onimaru is credited for setting production. Takafumi Suzuki is the producer, and Kazuki Yanase is the publicity producer.

Kazuma Akagi (9-nine- Ruler's Crown) is the prop designer, Do Kim Hoan Tran (Marika's Love Meter Malfunction) is the art director, and Momoka Saeki is in charge of color design.

WWWave Corporation's Deregula anime label is producing the anime.

Airots performs the opening theme song "Gingira" and Ceui performs the ending theme song "False Love."

Jura debuted the manga in Kodansha's YanMaga Web in May 2021. Kodansha published the manga's seventh compiled book volume on July 16.
