Police have called on the public to help find two women in connection with the theft of more than £1,000 worth of goods in Reading and Calcot.

Thames Valley Police is looking into two incidents of shoplifting at the start of September. The first incident occurred at clothing store Next in Reading Gate Retail Park, at around 4.30pm on 3 September. The second took place at the Boots store at the Calcot Sainsbury’s retail park at around 1.45pm on 7 September.

During both incidents, two women entered the stores and selected a large number of items from display shelves before leaving without making any attempt to pay.

The stolen goods included a “significant quantity” of clothing and other items which the force said were worth more than £1,000 in total value.

The force put out CCTV photos of two women who they believe have “vital information” to assist their investigation. One woman dressed in blue and carried a pink bag while the other dressed in beige with sandals.

Investigating officer PC Richard Tarrant, of the West Berkshire Local Command Unit, asked that anyone who recognises the two women get in touch with the police as soon as possible.
