Mahama urges global investors to consider Ghana, says country is ‘friend to all’

President John Dramani Mahama has urged investors from across the world to explore opportunities in Ghana, assuring them that the country is open to partnerships with all nations, regardless of their political or economic affiliations.
Speaking at the Financial Times Africa Summit 2026, he said Ghana’s foreign policy of non-alignment continued to guide its international relations, allowing the country to maintain friendly ties with global powers while pursuing investments that support economic growth.
President Mahama stressed that Ghana was not interested in taking sides in the competition among major world powers but in attracting capital that would generate mutual benefits.
He encouraged investors to consider Ghana as a destination for their investments, provided the ventures offered fair returns to both parties.
“We are friends to all and enemies to none. And Ghana’s policy of non-alignment has served us well and so we welcome investors from all over the world,” he said.
“It is not about competition. It is about investment and a fair return to everybody, including ourselves. And so that is the condition. There is no competition. We are as friendly to America, to EU, to China, and to Russia,” President Mahama added.
