I’m Only Thinking About My Work At Bayern — Kompany Breaks Silence On Man City Financial Charges Verdict
Vincent Kompany has admitted he is ‘not too occupied’ by the verdict in Manchester City’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) case.
His former club have been found guilty of all charges against them, the Premier League announced last week.
City were first charged in February 2023, with the alleged offences taking place between 2009 and 2018.
Kompany was at the Etihad Stadium throughout the period in question having joined the club in 2008 before spending 11 years with City.
He was also named captain in 2011, a role he held until he departed in 2019.
The 40-year-old’s links to City were highlighted during his latest Bayern Munich press conference.
Kompany spoke to reporters this week ahead of his side’s trip to face Augsburg on Saturday.
It marked the first time he had addressed the media since City’s guilty verdict.
When asked, Kompany (via talkSPORT) admitted: “I’m only thinking about my work at FC Bayern.

“We have important games coming up, and that takes a lot of time. There’s not much time to think about other stuff.
“For me it’s simple, I played 11 years for the club and I’ve loved all the years I’ve played for the club.
“Everything we’ve achieved and done on the pitch I’m really proud of. Everything else, as a player you’re not a part of that.
“And right now as a coach of Bayern Munich I’m not too occupied with that topic as much as preparing for the game next week and the game we have to win tomorrow and everything I have as a coach.”
Kompany won 12 trophies with City including four Premier League titles.
However, the first three of those came during the period in which their FFP offences took place.
City have since launched an appeal against the independent commission’s ruling in the case.
Following his arrival from Hamburg, Kompany made 360 appearances for the club.
The former Belgium defender also scored 20 goals for City from centre-back before returning to boyhood club Anderlecht in 2019.
