Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources denied circulating rumors regarding an increase in gasoline prices, asserting that they are completely baseless.

In an official statement on Sunday, the ministry reiterated its categorical denial of reports circulating online concerning changes to the prices of petroleum products.

These prices being promoted as the new rates set to be implemented are incorrect and are not based on any official decision, the statement stressed.

The ministry also clarified that the Automatic Pricing Committee for Petroleum Products has not met yet to decide upon new prices.

It noted that official information and decisions regarding petroleum product prices are announced through the ministry’s official channels, and no figures or information circulated by unofficial sources are considered valid.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources confirmed that current petroleum product prices remain official and unchanged.

Gasoline prices on Monday:

  • 95-octane gasoline: LE 24 per liter.
  • 92-octane gasoline: LE 22.25 per liter.
  • 80-octane gasoline: LE 20.75 per liter.
  • Diesel: LE 20.5 per liter.
  • Automotive gas: LE 13 per cubic meter.
