EXCLUSIVE: Premiere Entertainment Group is introducing faith-based survival thriller The Rescue, which has Kellan Lutz (Twilight franchise) attached, to international buyers at the TIFF market.

The synopsis reads: “After a violent storm leaves a rescue team stranded on a frozen Alaskan mountain, survival becomes a test not only of endurance, but of faith, as hope is pushed to its breaking point.”

The film is scheduled to begin production in New Zealand in January 2027.

Lutz, known for his roles in the Twilight franchise and The Expendables 3, will lead the ensemble cast, which is currently coming together.

The film will be directed by Darren Simmonds and Jared van Berkel from a screenplay written by van Berkel. Simon Ambridge, Anton Steel and Jared van Berkel will produce.

The Rescue has everything international audiences respond to: a recognizable star, an expansive survival story, and a powerful emotional message,” said Elias Axume, CEO of Premiere Entertainment Group. “Kellan is the perfect actor to lead this film, and we’re excited to introduce it to buyers at TIFF.”
