UECL: Onuachu Ruled Out Of Trabzonspor’s Clash Against Hearts

Translate

Trabzonspor head coach Thomas Reis has confirmed that Paul Onuachu will miss the club’s UEFA Europa Conference League clash against Scottish side Heart of Midlothian.

The Turkish Super Lig outfit will host Hearts at the Papara Park on Thursday night in their third match of the Conference League campaign.

Onuachu picked up an injury during Trabzonspor’s 4-2 victory over Finnish side KuPS last Thursday.

The Nigerian striker opened the scoring for the Black Sea Storm in the third minute but was forced off just seven minutes later.

Reis Provides Injury Update On Onuachu

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Reis said the match against Hearts would come too soon for the forward, suggesting that he could return to action in Trabzonspor’s upcoming league fixture against Rizespor.

“Tomorrow will be a bit early for Mustafa, early for his return tomorrow. For Onuachu, we could say maybe the Rizespor match,” Reis told reporters at a press conference.

Reis also explained that Trabzonspor maintain separate player lists for their European and domestic league competitions, adding that the final decision on the starting lineup would be made after the team’s last training session.

“Our player lists for Europe and the league are different. We’ll do the last training session shortly, and we’ll decide on the starting 11,” he said.
