APC women begin grassroots mobilisation for Tinubu

Grassroots mobilisation by women supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid has commenced across the country, with engagements being activated in communities hosting polling units nationwide.

The mobilisation is being coordinated by the Women Mobilisation Directorate of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, led by Dr Betta Edu, under the leadership of First Lady Oluremi Tinubu.

According to the directorate, women are holding ward and community meetings to develop strategies for mobilising voters ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The mobilisation, it said, covers communities across the 176,846 polling units in the country, with meetings already taking place in parts of Jigawa, Kano, Zamfara, Kwara, Imo, Cross River, Benue, Plateau, Oyo, Ondo, Rivers and Osun states, among others.

The directorate said women in the communities were engaging one another on ways to mobilise more women and other voters in support of Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

It said the women were motivated by what they described as positive changes in their families and communities under the present administration.

According to the directorate, the Nigeria Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, had helped some families by providing educational loans covering tuition and upkeep for eligible students, reducing the financial burden on parents.

It also cited empowerment programmes associated with the Renewed Hope Initiative of the First Lady as having benefited women and families.

The directorate said ward and community meetings would continue as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the election.

It expressed confidence that sustained mobilisation and coordination among APC women would translate into electoral support for the president in 2027.

The group described its campaign slogan as: “APC Women, One Strength, Our Victory.”
