Translate

A worker was killed after a tour bus collapsed on them at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts in Vienna, Virginia, on Thursday ahead of a scheduled concert headlined by Squeeze.

The show, which was also set to feature Adam Ant and Haircut 100, was canceled following the incident.

According to a statement from the US Park Police, “at approximately 5 p.m., USPP responded to a report that a tour bus collapsed on a worker in a parking lot at Wolf Trap. The worker was underneath the bus when the apparatus supporting it failed.”

Wolf Trap later confirmed that the worker died as a result of the accident.

“Squeeze are deeply saddened and shocked by an incident that occurred at the venue earlier today, which resulted in the loss of a life,” the band said in its own statement. “After discussions with the venue and the relevant authorities, the decision was made to cancel this evening’s performance.”

“We will work with the promoter and venue regarding the possibility of rescheduling the show and will communicate further information to ticket holders as soon as it is available. Our thoughts remain with everyone affected by this tragic event.”
