Translate

Two men have been charged over an alleged carjacking on the Sunshine Coast.

Police say a man threatened a 55-year-old man with a knife and demanded his car keys at a shopping centre on David Low Way just before 6:30pm on Monday.

Officers tracked the vehicle with the help of a police helicopter, then used tyre spikes to slow the vehicle at Ebbw Vale.

Police say the vehicle was abandoned in Bundamba, where the driver fled on foot.

A 26-year-old Mount Coolum man was arrested shortly after.

He has been charged with armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle and is due to face court in Ipswich this morning.

A 29-year-old Yarrabilba man, who police say was sitting in the car when they arrived, has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He was released on bail and is due to face court later this month.
