One of Taylor Sheridan's best shows is a cross between Yellowstone and The Godfather, and it makes its long-awaited return to Paramount+ next week. Taylor Sheridan's best shows have already made him one of the most prolific writers in Hollywood, but Sheridan's slew of upcoming shows is adding even more to his already impressive filmography. Sheridan now has nine new and returning shows on the horizon, and one of them is just a week away.

While Sheridan may be best known for Westerns like Yellowstone and its spinoffs, he's also dabbled in other genres. Lioness, for example, is a military and spy thriller, while The Madison is a straight drama about grief and family. One of Sheridan's most unique shows combines Western elements from shows like Yellowstone with the action-packed crime underworld from The Godfather.

That show, Tulsa King, is now returning for another season. Tulsa King season 4 is set to continue the story of Dwight Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone), a New York mafioso who starts his own independent crime empire in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Best of all, Tulsa King has all the Western elements and Taylor Sheridan flare of Yellowstone combined with the shady dealings, backstabbing, and gangster action of The Godfather.

Fans only have a little over a week to wait for Tulsa King season 4, as it premieres on Paramount+ on Friday, October 16. Unfortunately, Paramount hasn't yet officially confirmed Tulsa King season 4's release schedule beyond its premiere date. Based on prior seasons, however, Tulsa King season 4 is likely to follow a standard weekly release format. Season 3, for example, released one new episode per week at 3 a.m. ET over the course of 10 weeks, and season 4 will likely follow suit.

Luckily, Paramount has revealed more concrete information about Tulsa King season 4's story than its schedule. Tulsa King season 4 will reportedly follow Dwight and his gang as they continue to legitimize their growing criminal empire. The season's description also mentions a "crushing personal loss" for Dwight that could easily call him back to his family in New York, and it also teases Tulsa "turning into a battleground."

Tulsa King season 4's villains also have a fairly clear path forward. At the end of Tulsa King season 3, Cal Thresher (Neal McDonough) became governor of Oklahoma, a position of power that he could easily use to make Dwight's life more difficult. Bill Bevilaqua (Frank Grillo) also has a bone to pick with Dwight over being arrested by Agent Musso. In short, the temperature is rising for Dwight and his entire gang in Tulsa King season 4.

Tulsa King Season 5 & A Spinoff Are Also Confirmed

Fans of Tulsa King also have a lot more to look forward to beyond the fourth season. Even though season 4 hasn't premiered yet, Paramount announced that Tulsa King season 5 is already confirmed. Along with that confirmation came quite a few new cast members and a reveal that Tulsa King season 5 is moving production from Georgia to New York, reportedly for story reasons.

It's not yet clear why Tulsa King season 5 is moving to New York, but the very fact that it's for some story consideration is also a great sign. It means that the show's writers already have at least a broad outline of the upcoming season, and it may even be an indication that the season's script has been finalized. At the very least, this early renewal should mean that Tulsa King season 5 will be able to return quickly and that fans won't have to wait long for more of Dwight's story.

On top of the original show's renewal, Tulsa King is also getting its first spinoff show. Samuel L. Jackson is set to lead the spinoff series Frisco King, following his season 3 character, Russell Lee Washington, Jr. Frisco King will reportedly follow Lee as he moves to Texas to start his own criminal empire, following Dwight's example, and the first season has also already finished filming. It's a great time to be a Tulsa King fan.
