NEW DELHI: YouTuber Dhruv Rathee on Tuesday shared a picture with AISA leader Neha Bora amid protests taking place against Election Commission chief Gyanesh Kumar.Rathee and Bora shared the picture on X, showing them seated on a sofa against a wall featuring portraits of BR Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi.

However on Instagram, Rathee posted the picture with the caption, “with a tigress”, referring to Bora.

The YouTuber-activist and the student leader were detained on October 10, when the Abhijeet Dipke-led CJP planned a major demonstration demanding Kumar’s resignation over the Election Commission’s conduct of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

However, a large-scale security deployment and a crackdown on protesters curtailed the demonstration in the national capital.More than 30,000 personnel were deployed, while over 7,000 people were detained across the city, according to the figures cited. However, calls for CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation extend beyond the youth-led CJP, with the opposition, led by Rahul Gandhi, also stepping up its campaign against the poll body chief. The INDIA bloc has sought to raise concerns over the Election Commission’s conduct of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The opposition bloc also moved the Supreme Court, flagging its concerns over Kumar and the poll body’s functioning.
