Barcelona will be without the services of French defender Jules Kounde for its UEFA Champions League 2026-27 match against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, October 20.
Kounde will miss the clash after suffering a left ankle sprain in the club’s last league match against Real Betis, which leaves him in doubt for the weekend’s marquee clash against Real Madrid as well.
The French defender played the full match against Betis but felt “physical discomfort” after the match was completed.
“First team player Jules Kounde has a left ankle sprain and will miss the PSG game. His evolution will determine his availability for the Clásico against Real Madrid on 25 October,” said the club in a statement.
Along with Kounde, Spanish defender Eric Garcia will also miss the match with a thigh injury that is expected to rule him out for three to four weeks.
