Focus Point expands premium eyewear portfolio

KUALA LUMPUR: Focus Point Vision Care Group Sdn Bhd, Malaysia's largest optical retail chain, is strengthening its foothold in the premium eyewear market as part of its continued efforts to broaden its retail offerings and cater to the evolving preferences of discerning consumers.

The company, a subsidiary of Main Market-listed Focus Point Holdings Bhd, and which has a nationwide network of more than 210 outlets, has established a strong presence in Malaysia's optical retail industry.

Building on this foundation, it is now taking a strategic step into the luxury eyewear segment with the introduction of Focus Point Prestige, a dedicated retail concept designed to offer a more exclusive and elevated shopping experience.

The newly launched concept store brings together 14 international luxury eyewear brands under one roof.

The opening ceremony was attended by Johor Bahru Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Datuk Jeffrey Lai Jiun Jye, Focus Point Holdings Bhd president and chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Liaw Choon Liang, and IGB REIT Management Sdn Bhd deputy CEO of retail Rennie Lee.

The store features an extensive portfolio of internationally recognised brands, including Bvlgari, Cartier, Dior, DITA, Gucci, ic! berlin, LINDA FARROW, Miu Miu, Prada, Saint Laurent, TAG Heuer, TOM FORD, Valentino and Japanese eyewear specialist 999.9 (Four Nines).

In a statement, Focus Point said the carefully selected portfolio reflects the diverse expressions of luxury eyewear, spanning Italian fashion heritage, French haute couture, Japanese precision engineering and contemporary design.

Beyond its premium brand offerings, Focus Point Prestige also integrates professional optical services with advanced ZEISS technology, including the ZEISS VisuFit 1000, to enhance the eyewear selection and fitting process.

The technology enables customers to explore frame styles and assess how different designs fit their facial features, adding a digital dimension to the shopping experience.

The launch reflects changing consumer expectations in Malaysia's eyewear market, where purchasing decisions increasingly extend beyond vision correction to include fashion, personal identity, comfort and product craftsmanship.

By combining luxury designer collections with professional eye care expertise and digital fitting technology, Focus Point aims to offer a more integrated retail experience for customers seeking both style and functional performance.

The initiative also reflects the group's broader strategy to strengthen its market positioning, expand its reach across different consumer segments and capture opportunities in the premium end of Malaysia's optical retail market.
