The first teaser trailer for the Tulsa King spinoff Frisco King has arrived and it shows star Samuel L. Jackson wheeling and dealing in the the modest Texas city.

Paramount+ released the first footage, below, which has The Avengers and Django Unchained actor as gangster Lee Washington as he lands in Frisco, Texas. According to the official description, Washington “discovers a hustler’s playground hidden beneath the polished surface of American suburbia. Recruiting an ambitious protégé, a loyal driver, and a growing network of eccentric partners, Lee transforms small hustles into big business. But, every new score raises the stakes, and as his influence grows, so do the risks, forcing Lee to stay one grift ahead. Frisco may not know it yet, but its new king has arrived.”

The character was previously introduced on Tulsa King. The series is written by executive producer Taylor Sheridan, continuing the producer’s hugely prolific creative output. Frisco King was originally titled Nola King, and was set to take place in New Orleans, but the setting was shifted closer to Sheridan’s production empire outside Fort Worth, Texas.

The project will premiere with two episodes on Dec. 18 — yup, on Dunesday — on the Paramount+ streaming channel.

The series also stars Asa Germann, Kai Caster, Lilah Pate and Savanna Gann, and has an appearance by Tulsa King star Sylvester Stallone. The project is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios.
