Ted Lasso stars give season 5 pitches and talk chances of a renewal

Translate

The fourth season of Ted Lasso has now come to an end but, if Jason Sudeikis, has his way, it won't be the end of the story.

That's because, before the new season aired, Sudeikis revealed that he is hoping to complete another three-season arc with the women's team, as he did with the men's team. That would take the show up to season 6.

At the moment, we don't yet have confirmation that season 5 will happen but, speaking with Radio Times, Siobhan star Rex Hayes said that it would be "wonderful" if it did.

Hayes added: "Hopefully this season will have lived in people's memories. I think that's what I'm holding on to, is that this has been such a joy, and I hope we get to do it again."

Meanwhile, Hayes's co-star Aisling Sharkey, who plays Niamh, added jokingly: "I'm not holding on to that. I need everyone to email Warner and Apple immediately. I need locations, I need people to take to the streets."

Hayes and Sharkey were then asked if they had any pitches for their characters in future seasons, to which the former said: "Look, now we're talking real talk, let's make sure that the entire season, if there's another one, is about and Niamh and Siobhan, and their journey on and off the pitch. We're in Ireland. We're doing a tour."

Sharkey then pitched for the characters to go to Belfast, adding: "We're not from Belfast, I just want to be there!"

Hayes voted for the characters to go on holiday to Mexico or Spain and to visit Camp Nou, with Sharkey suggesting it becomes a travel show.

"I think Niamh and Siobhan taking the world is an excellent pitch," Hayes said.
