India finished the 2026 Chess Olympiad in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, with six individual board medals across the Open and Women’s sections. Savitha Shri B produced the standout individual result, winning gold on Board 5 after an unbeaten campaign in which she scored nine points from 10 games.
World champion D Gukesh and Divya Deshmukh added two silver medals, while R Praggnanandhaa, Koneru Humpy and Vantika Agrawal finished with bronze medals on their respective boards. The individual honours came alongside India’s silver medal in the Open section and bronze in the Women’s event.
