Technician in Kulim charged with stabbing wife to death
A 43-year-old technician was charged in the Kulim magistrates’ court with murdering his wife by stabbing her to death at their house last week.
No plea was recorded from G Vikneswaran after the charge was read before magistrate Nur Hamizah Mat Shah as murder cases fall under the High Court’s jurisdiction, Harian Metro reported.
The father of one was charged with killing S Sila, 39, at their home in Taman Tiram in Kulim, Kedah, between 6.30pm and 9pm on Sept 14.
The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code is punishable by the death sentence or 30 to 40 years in prison and 12 strokes of the cane, upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor S Preeyaa prosecuted while Vikneswaran was unrepresented.
The court did not grant him bail. It fixed Dec 8 for mention and the submission of chemical and autopsy reports.
