Power Trip Return With First Songs Since Death of Riley Gale

Translate

Power Trip, the thrash-metal group formerly fronted by the late Riley Gale, have cemented their return with a new double single, their first music since Gale’s death in 2020. Listen to “Precinct 3” and “Scavenger” below, via Blue Grape; a Power Trip album will follow next spring, according to a press release. The former track comes with a video from Eric Richter.

Since reuniting in late 2023, Power Trip have been fronted by Seth Gilmore, a longtime friend of the band and vocalist with Skourge and Fugitive. Jacob Hansen produced the new tracks. Founding guitarist Blake Ibanez, who co-produced the new music, said in the press release, “When we were writing this, we wondered what Riley would have wanted to write about. So once we decided on that approach, it honestly came really easily—the lyrics were flowing and it just felt like the right way to kick off this new chapter and honor him. I think he would have been stoked to see it come to fruition.”
