An attempted murder suspect was arrested at Trippie Redd’s Southwest Ranches, Fla., home on Tuesday (Oct. 6) after a search warrant was executed at the rapper’s residence by the Davie Police Department with assistance from surrounding departments.

The Miami Police Department confirmed that 25-year-old Braveone Jones was arrested and booked on two attempted murder charges tied to a September shooting. While Trippie wasn’t apprehended on any charges, an investigation into the case remains ongoing.

“On Oct. 6, 2026, at approximately 6 p.m., the Davie Police Department, with assistance from surrounding municipalities — including the Fort Lauderdale P.D., Sunrise P.D., the Broward Sheriff’s Office, ATF and the Plantation Police Department’s SWAT Team — served a warrant issued by the Miami Police Department,” Officer Vega of the Miami Police Department told Billboard in a statement on Wednesday (Oct. 7).

The statement continued: “The warrant was for 25-year-old Braveone Jones, who was located at the residence and taken into custody. Jones faces two counts of attempted murder in connection with the Sept. 15, 2026, at approximately 12 a.m. shooting at … Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen. The investigation remains ongoing.”

Billboard has reached out to reps for Trippie Redd.

According to local NBC affiliate NBC6, the Sept. 15 double shooting took place outside the Wynwood restaurant, which left an 18-year-old and 23-year-old with gunshot wounds. The two were transported to a nearby hospital and treated for their injuries.

Trippie Redd — who in August released #NDA, which debuted at No. 50 on the Billboard 200 — went viral in 2024 for giving his Southwest Ranches mansion, where Jones was discovered inside, a completely blacked-out paint job.

Trippie had legal troubles of his own this summer, when he was arrested on July 4 at Miami International Airport while trying to board a flight to France. According to NBC6, The “F–k Love” rapper was booked on charges connected to an outstanding warrant in Miami-Dade County from 2023.
