Three Crowns Milk, a dairy brand from FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC, has celebrated thousands of women at the 2026 August Meeting in Owerri, Imo State, reaffirming its commitment to women’s wellbeing, empowerment and healthier living.

The August Meeting, one of the largest cultural gatherings in South-East Nigeria, brings together women from different communities and parts of the world for homecoming activities centred on community development, networking, empowerment and social interaction.

Held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Umuorii Field in Owerri, this year’s gathering brought together women from 10 communities, including Umualum, Umuorii, Umuoba, Okwu, Owalla, Owaelu, Umunahu, Orji, Amakohia and Akwakuma.

A major highlight of the event was the brand’s empowerment initiative, through which women received training and practical knowledge in health, finance and agriculture. In addition, 30 underserved women were presented with equipment to enable them to start or strengthen their businesses.

The initiative, according to the brand, was designed to go beyond celebrating women by providing them with practical tools and knowledge to improve their wellbeing and economic resilience.

The event was attended by the First Lady of Imo State, Chioma Uzodimma, who was represented by Nduka Ijeoma, wife of the Managing Director of the Anambra-Imo River Basin Development Authority. The gathering also featured an appearance by actress and influencer, Ebelle Okaro.

Speaking at the event, the Marketing Director, FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC, Maureen Ifada, said the company remained committed to supporting women because of their role in building stronger families and communities.

She said, “At FrieslandCampina WAMCO, we believe that when women thrive, families and communities flourish. Through Three Crowns Milk, we remain committed to creating platforms that celebrate, support and empower mothers because they are the foundation of healthier families and stronger societies.

“The August Meeting provides another meaningful opportunity to connect with women where culture, community and wellness intersect, and we are proud to share this important moment with the people of Imo State.”

Also speaking, the Marketing Manager, Three Crowns Milk, Chioma Otisi-Igwe, said supporting mothers went beyond providing nutrition, stressing the importance of creating opportunities for women to thrive.

She said, “At Three Crowns Milk, we believe supporting mothers goes beyond providing good nutrition; it means creating opportunities that empower them to thrive.

“Through the August Meeting, we are proud to celebrate women, promote healthier living and equip them with practical tools to improve their wellbeing, strengthen their economic resilience and better care for themselves and their families.”
