Three Crowns Milk, a dairy brand from FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC, has celebrated thousands of women at the 2026 August Meeting in Owerri, Imo State, reaffirming its commitment to women’s wellbeing, empowerment and healthier living.
The August Meeting, one of the largest cultural gatherings in South-East Nigeria, brings together women from different communities and parts of the world for homecoming activities centred on community development, networking, empowerment and social interaction.
Held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Umuorii Field in Owerri, this year’s gathering brought together women from 10 communities, including Umualum, Umuorii, Umuoba, Okwu, Owalla, Owaelu, Umunahu, Orji, Amakohia and Akwakuma.
A major highlight of the event was the brand’s empowerment initiative, through which women received training and practical knowledge in health, finance and agriculture. In addition, 30 underserved women were presented with equipment to enable them to start or strengthen their businesses.
The initiative, according to the brand, was designed to go beyond celebrating women by providing them with practical tools and knowledge to improve their wellbeing and economic resilience.
The event was attended by the First Lady of Imo State, Chioma Uzodimma, who was represented by Nduka Ijeoma, wife of the Managing Director of the Anambra-Imo River Basin Development Authority. The gathering also featured an appearance by actress and influencer, Ebelle Okaro.
