Good morning

By Stephen Letts

Good morning and welcome to another day on the ABC markets and finance blog.

Stephen Letts from ABC business team limbering up for a blow-by-blow coverage of the day's events, where every post is hopefully a winner, but none should be construed as financial advice.

Wall Street closed higher, supported by a rally in AI-related stocks.

The ASX looks like shrugging off Friday's decline with futures trading pointing to a marginal gain on opening.

It's a busy day ahead.

The ANZ is due to release it FY26 results before the market opens.

The key figure to keep your eye on is the consensus forecast for a cash profit of $7.5 billion, which would be 9% when excluding significant items.

Dividends are expected to be marginally higher — $1.70/share compared with $1.66/share last year.

We will also hear from RBA Assistant Governor and Chief Economist Sarah Hunter this morning.

On the data front, we'll get the latest consumer and producer inflation data from China in the afternoon.
