About last night

Shall we dive into last night?

The Premier League started with a bang yesterday evening as the champions Arsenal got their title defence off to the perfect start against new boys Coventry City.

I mean, boy, were they good.

Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka, and Martin Odegaard bagged the three goals that sank Cov, but ultimately, it was new boy Christos Tzolis who stole the show on the left flank. He was superb all night.

People may say it was 'only Coventry' but still, that was a nice early statement from Mikel Arteta and his players to show that they are still the team to beat.

It looks like it's set to be another brilliant season for the Gunners.

Football floodgates opened

The Premier League dam has officially burst.

Many would say that it hadn't been up very long after the World Cup, but Arsenal took away the first brick with their win over Coventry last night. Now the stream of matches is flowing through.

Honestly, I couldn't be happier. Yesterday was a cracking start to the campaign, well, unless you happen to be from the mighty Cov in the West Midlands. Even then, I doubt you are that miffed.

Anyway, we continue the box office opening weekend up in East Yorkshire as Hull City begin their first venture in the Premier League for nearly a decade against Michael Carrick's Manchester United.

There is a buzz around the MKM Stadium, or should I say roar (sorry), as they look to try and prove a certain Joe Cole, and many more doubters, wrong this season.

It's certainly a tough start against a United side who have arguably been the best in the country since the turn of the year. But can they carry that form into the new season?

We are about to find out. Strap yourselves in, and prepare for the ride.
