Billy Ray Cyrus's ex-wife Firerose has spoken out about their relationship as she compared it to a 'warzone'.

The singer, 38, who was married to the country crooner, 65, for seven months, issued a warning for Billy's girlfriend, Elizabeth Hurley, as she said 'narcissists never change.'

Last month, Elizabeth, 61, ignited engagement rumours when she posted an Instagram photo of her sporting a large diamond on her ring finger.

In a new interview, Firerose – whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodge – reflected on her marriage to the singer after they started a relationship in 2019.

In the past, Billy Ray has vehemently denied Firerose's allegations of emotional abuse and he even claimed that he was the one who had been verbally abused.

Firerose moved to Billy's farm in 2020 and things were great. However, she claimed after their marriage in 2023 their relationship turned sour.

The singer added she felt like she was 'walking on eggshells' and claimed Billy prevented her from seeing her friends and didn't want her to have a car.

She told The Sun: 'I wish that every person who is being ensnared by a narcissist could save themselves, because I wouldn’t wish that on anybody, being in a relationship with Billy was like going through some kind of war.

'I could just look at him in a way he would perceive to be wrong and it would trigger his rage, he would be screaming vile insults and verbally abusing me and calling me the most horrible things I’ve ever heard.'

Firerose claimed Billy would shower her with love the following day and added she tried to 'mould herself' into who she thought he wanted her to be to make things better.

The Daily Mail has contacted Billy's representatives for comment.

Firerose's interview is the latest in a string of accusations towards her ex, after making repeated posts about their relationship, which ended in May 2024.

It was a bitter and public break up, during which each accused the other of verbal and emotional abuse. Court documents show that she walked away with zero dollars from her ex.

Firerose and Billy Ray first became friends on the set of the Disney show Hannah Montana – which starred his daughter Miley – more than ten years ago, when he was married to his first wife Tish. They then reconnected during the Covid pandemic.

Billy Ray filed for divorce in May 2024 citing irreconcilable differences and 'inappropriate marital conduct'.

He later filed a restraining order to prevent 'unauthorised' use of his credit cards and accounts. The divorce was finalised in August with his lawyers saying he was 'relieved to put this nightmare behind him'.

In a statement released via his lawyers he said: 'This has been absolutely the most crazy insane scam I have ever heard of. Let alone the fact I'm right in the center and basically the target of the scheme.

'It's unfortunate it played out this way. Not only was it a web of lies that put me in physical danger, it was a matter of the heart. Love is blind, that's for sure.'
