The Kolkata Derby will return to centre stage on October 8 when East Bengal FC takes on Mohun Bagan Super Giant in the 126th IFA Shield 2026-27 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium).

The Indian Football Association, West Bengal, confirmed the fixture on Tuesday, with the marquee clash scheduled to kick off at 6:15 PM.

The governing body has also made it clear that no postponement will be granted under any circumstances and that the match will begin as scheduled.

The meeting between the two Kolkata giants will be among the biggest attractions of this edition of the IFA Shield, with the traditional rivals renewing one of Indian football’s most storied contests.

The match will be played over regulation time of 90 minutes, with two halves of 45 minutes and a 15-minute interval.

Unlike the league fixture, there must be a winner. If the teams remain level at the end of regulation time, the match will move into 30 minutes of extra time.

If the scores remain tied after extra time, the winner will be decided through a penalty shootout.

The IFA has also stated that the date, time, venue and sequence of matches could be altered in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
