Dhurandhar 2 was a certified monstrous blockbuster in the pre-release stage itself. After Dhurandhar’s extraordinary run, the buzz was sky-high for the sequel, and the anticipation was evident in record advance bookings at the Indian box office. Particularly talking about day 1 pre-sales, the film went haywire by grossing 50 crore+ despite record paid premieres. It seems pre-sales of the film will stay unbeaten, at least in 2026. Keep reading for a detailed report!

Ramayana won’t challenge Dhurandhar 2’s day 1 advance bookings

The biggest contender to score Bollywood’s highest day 1 pre-sales by surpassing Dhurandhar 2 was Ramayana. Headlined by Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, the magnum opus is the most expensive Indian film to date. Since it is based on an Indian epic and given the initial anticipation, the film was expected to rake in towering pre-sales numbers, but unfortunately, that’s not going to happen.

As we write, Ramayana has grossed around 24 crore at the Indian box office through day 1 advance bookings, and the final number is expected to be in the range of 32-37 crore. So, it will clearly miss Dhurandhar 2’s numbers by a margin. However, if Ramayana enjoys good word-of-mouth among audiences upon its release, its sequel definitely has a chance of recording Bollywood’s highest-ever pre-sales.

King is unlikely to overtake Dhurandhar 2’s pre-sales

After Ramayana, King is the next big Bollywood release this year. Yes, it has strong pre-release buzz, with promotional assets doing well among audiences, but beating Dhurandhar 2 looks impossible. With a strong trailer, the film is expected to hit the 40 crore mark in opening-day pre-sales, but reaching the 50 crore mark is very tough. So, it is safe to say that Dhurandhar 2’s record advance bookings will stay unbeaten, at least in 2026.

Can the record be broken in 2027?

Next year, several big Bollywood films are hitting theaters, including Golmaal 5, Love & War, Chauhaan, and others. Depending on the trailer and the pre-release buzz, these films have the potential to see big advance bookings. It’ll be interesting to see if any of these films challenge Dhurandhar 2.
