1XCup 2026: Vido 99 Top Group A As Young Stars, BYT Play Out Draws

Vido 99 FC have moved to the top of Group A after recording the biggest result of the day as the 1XCup 2026 group-stage matches continued on Tuesday with three games producing a mix of goals, drama and tightly contested encounters.

While Vido won their game against Emiloju FC, their other Group A opponents, JP Young Stars FC and BYT Academical FC played out an entertaining draw.

In the third match of the day which was a Group B affair, Newhope Naija FC and Kiraa FA also had a share of the spoils.

Vido 99 FC 3–1 Emiloju FC

Vido 99 FC produced an impressive attacking display to secure a convincing 3–1 victory over Emiloju FC, with the win giving the former a valuable boost in their quest to progress from the group stage, while their opponent will have to regroup and improve in their next outing.

Joel Emmanuel put Vido into an early lead with the forward finding the back of the net in the 11th minute courtesy of an assist from Raymond Babatunde.

Victor Adebayo doubled Vido’s lead

in the 37th minute while Emiloju FC halved the deficit through Faruq Abubakar who scored in the 42nd minute as the first half ended 2-1.

Emmanuel got his brace by scoring in the 53rd minute to increase Vido’s lead to 3-1 with their three-goal haul underlining their attacking efficiency, as they made the most of their opportunities to claim maximum points.

JP Young Stars 1–1 BYT Academical

In the second Group A match of the day, JP Young Stars FC and BYT Academical FC settled for a 1–1 draw in a closely fought encounter which was equally entertaining.

Yayah Wasiu put Young Stars ahead

in the 24th minute of the game while BYT Academical got their equaliser through Ajuwon Abideen upon the resumption of the second half as the forward scored in the 46th minute.

Both sides showed determination but were unable to find the decisive goal as they eventually shared the spoils, with the result leaving the two teams with a point apiece and keeping the group contest finely balanced.

Newhope Naija FC 0–0 Kiraa FA

In the third match of the day, a Group B encounter, Newhope Naija FC and Kiraa FA played out a goalless draw in another closely contested group fixture.

Both teams defended resolutely and created opportunities, but neither could break the deadlock over 90 minutes.

The 0–0 result means both sides take a point from the encounter, keeping their qualification hopes alive.
