Zahid: Don't label actions 'disloyal', 'rude' before understanding Constitution

AYER KEROH: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has urged certain quarters not to quickly label actions as "disloyal" or "rude" without understanding the Constitution.

He said disputes involving royal institutions and state administrations should first be assessed based on the position and responsibilities of each institution, including the rights of all citizens guaranteed under the Constitution.

"Do not label something as disloyal or rude before understanding the circumstances.

"The primary task of the leadership is to untangle complexities with knowledge and wisdom while upholding the dignity of institutions, not to speak without manners or civility," he said.

He said this when officiating the National Musyawarah: "Unravelling the Tanah Melayu Land Polemic" at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) here today.
